Interiors by Daryl Wark is a unique interior design studio & showroom located in Brisbanes Fortitude Valley.
The studio constantly evolves in keeping with local and international design trends. The owner is Daryl Wark the principal designer. Daryl travels widely to source new and inspiring collections and one-off pieces to give Interiors by Daryl Wark a vibrant world feel.
The Fortitude Valley studio showcases this collection of personally sourced international and locally made furniture, soft furnishings, decorator items, Art, lighting and unique one off accessories.
The Interior Design and Decoration studio offers a full design and project management service for both residential and commercial projects and has an emphasis on tailoring the process to suit clients individual taste, style and budget.
With a customer centric approach throughout the creative process, Daryl works with you to bring your vision to life and realise the full potential of your project.
About Daryl Wark
Daryl’s creative journey began as a chef in some of Melbourne’s best 5 Star restaurants and hotels.
He Later launched a catering company which led him into food styling & design for magazines and commercials. In the early years of his career he worked in London under the internationally celebrated Fashion, Interiors and Hotel designer Anouska Hempel as her personal chef and stylist. Anouska inspired and prompted Daryl to study Interior Design and Decoration on his return to Australia.
After 3 years full time study he started his new career in design with MGT Architects in Canberra. Working on National & International projects ranging from Luxury private homes, 5 star hotels, corporate offices, an embassy residence, high-end condominiums and boutique retails stores in cities from Sydney, Hong Kong, Jakarta, China and KL to Singapore.
In 2003 Daryl moved to Brisbane to Head up Country Road Australia's QLD Visual Merchandising Department.
Eventually launching ‘Shelter Interiors & Garden', the design studio and retail store in 2005. His first importing & retail business in Brisbane's Paddington.
In 2006 he opened his second retail venture a partnership with two long term friends & so Found in France was born. It is here where Daryl curated a collection of imported French and South east Asian Antiques, furniture and homeware.
Jump to 2007 and Du Monde by Daryl Wark was launched. A boutique furniture, homeware and gift store in the same suburb. Daryl has always personally sourced from all over the globe for his stores and design clients, with a major proportion imported from South East Asia and Europe.
In early 2016 he closed the Paddington store and launched a new 210 sq. metre design showroom and retail collective experience in Brisbanes Gaythorne. This was where he returned to his love of Design and launched Interiors by Daryl Wark.
October 2021 saw the office and showroom move to its current location in the iconic Bell Brothers Art Deco Building in Brunswick Street Fortitude Valley.
It is from here that Daryl brings his Interior Design customers visions to life.
